A new adventure.....

A few weeks ago I posed a question to Greg that went something like this... Do you think you are given insights and inspiration about something you are thinking about because you always have it on your mind... or do you just see things pertaining to what you are thinking about more readily and they are always there?
He said probably a little of both!! I don't know, but I do know that this past month has been a very interesting for me. I have had some things on my mind and I swear I saw facebook posts and fortune cookies and talks and quotes and you name it all pertaining to my thoughts. I have been thinking a lot lately on timing in life and following your dreams -  what you have a passion for and a real desire to do. Is it just selfishness, or is it something that is innately a part of you that you need to explore and develop? I have gone back and forth with that for many years... thinking that what I deeply desire and what holds such a special place in my heart was just not to be and was out of the question as we were never going to be able to afford it. So for many years I just held close the memories and was grateful that I had the experiences in my youth. As I have gotten older, I couldn't help but feel like time was not on my side, yet in the past few months we were able to get into a home that had property and again my dream came alive inside my heart and I haven't been able to let go... if you have seen my profile pic you will know what it is!! My sweet husband encouraged me to go for it! We decided that there never seems to be a perfect time, so we would make it the perfect time. Every time I started to waiver and listen to that voice in my head that told me I couldn't do it, Greg was there to say "yes, you can... after all we started and have been successful with the restaurant. We were terrified to do that, and we are still here!" Good point! I was watching Dancing with the Stars and Sherri Shepard was eliminated and her words of wisdom were "If you have a dream and even if that dream scares you... run to it because the other side is amazing." We aren't afraid of hard work and learning as we go, so taking the leap of faith is the hardest part... so leap we did and are bringing home a couple of new additions to our family - this is our beautiful mare Sundance!

Since I was a little girl I have had a deep love for horses and was privileged to grow up learning to take care of them and ride with my Dad. I have the best memories of early morning rides with my dad. We had some really great times together with horses! I also rode with my cousin and we formed a bond that continues over the miles and lives that separate us. In fact because of these special bonds, my dad and my cousin were the first one's I told! My dad I involved in the search!!
We went to Hyde Park and fell in love with Sundance and then down to Bountiful where we fell in love with a paint mare named Sioux. Sundance arrives tonight with my sister Julie and her husband Layne (they graciously volunteered to bring her down to us and Mon. night we will get Sioux!) I am so excited and nervous and grateful all at the same time!
So it is off on another adventure! One that I hope my kids and husband will learn to love as much as I do!! I have had so many people tell me that they are too expensive and my reply to them is "so is therapy"!! Wish us luck and happy trails!! :)
