Busy Weekend!

So... the kids have a four day weekend and of course want to know what I have planned to make it fun for them?! Well, Thurs. we started out by going to Bob and Judy Nelson's (my Dad's cousins) to see their cute little foal Kachina and they graciously offered to let us take a few rides on their other 2 beautiful horses... Spirit and Shrek. The kids loved it and thought it was so fun to actually get to ride them and Kachina was so playful and cute! I got the best of it though when Bob offered to watch the kids while Judy and I took a short ride in the mountains above their home. I rode Spirit and may I say 'I'm in LOVE' She was such a joy to ride! She is a Missouri Fox Trotter and has the nicest gate ever! You hardly know that you are in a trot or lope other than you are covering ground quicker!! The other great part of the trip was getting to know Judy a little better! What an amazing lady. She is one who sits quietly in the background when everyone is together, but she has so many wonderful ideas and a wealth of knowledge! Following the ride she let me choose some of her beautiful Jewelry that she makes... so a treat for the kids, ended up being a treat for me!! Then we came home and Mom and Dad were at the restaurant with friends... so we got a chance to visit with them!

The next day was a trip to the Zoo! My sister Becky came with her kids and that was a great surprise for the kids!! They had  alot of fun together and we even got to see the Elephant Show... pretty amazing what they can train them to do!!

Saturday was a crazy day from the beginning to the end. The restaurant was so busy all day, we had a short reprieve around 5:00  and then the madness began again!! We were running like crazy! Greg's brothers Mike and Steve came up and my sister Mandi and her family came up too! It was nice to end the evening chatting with them. We had the best day of Oct. for the restaurant since we opened!! Really one of our best days ever!! So we were happy about that as it is needed!! By the way, isn't it beautiful up here right now?!

Then comes Sunday and I decide to actually try to curl the girls hair! It would have been cute and worth the time if their hair would have dried in time... but no such luck! (The boys kept calling her 'Mrs. Fields'... does Mrs. Fields walk around with curlers in her hair?!) Brie gave a talk in Primary and did a great job - it was just nice to relax!! I am not sure I am ready for this week to start... but ready or not... here we go!!

You are so brave--horses scare me.

Sounds like a fabulous Fall Break. How fun to have family come visit the restaurant and hooray for having the best day since opening.

Love the curlers.

Sounds like a great 4 day weekend to me. When are you changing the outside of the restaurant to Hunstville BBQ Company?
