I think the only reason I love having a January Birthday is the chance it gives me to start over a brand new year with a brand new age. I am never ready for New Years Resolutions by Jan. 1st, but by the 13th I have had a little bit of time to think things through!
This year for a brand new me... ;) I have very specific goals -
I will weigh 130 by the time I turn 42. (I am shooting for way before then, but decided to give myself a little leway as I have no idea how long it will actually take me to drop the weight. I figure a year is plenty of time!)
I will read something of scriptural content everyday (ie... actual scriptures or Ensign articles).
I will strive with real intent to learn how my Heavenly Father talks to me and follow what He tells me!
I will stop swearing out loud...(it's only funny the first couple of times you hear your young child repeat what they have heard!) and yes - I will also try to stop swearing in my head as well!! Thanks for that one Kelli B.!!:)
I will really work on being a kinder and gentler me - this one makes me the most nervous! I mean really how kind and gentle can someone with my personality be? My tongue may be raw by the end of this one! Either that or I will be stricken with larangitis!!:)
I will use my talents more, so as not to lose them... so if I just break into song while I am talking to you, don't think I am trying to make my life and episode of Glee or any other musical - just trying to use my talent!!:)
I will be less sarcastic - wait nope, that will have to wait for next year! I am already feeling overwhelmed!!;)
On that note I will end this fabulous birthday blog with saying - I don't want to be 41, but it beats the alternative!!
Also Happy Birthday to my incredible and beautiful Mother!! Who better to share this day with then the one who gave me life! I love you and have so much respect for you. You amaze me and I hope to be like you when I grow up!!

Happy Birthday, Sheri! And just so you know, we of the Nelson clan tend to break out in song all the time. It's totally normal. I guess it must be a Barnes family trait:) And how about adding this to your list of goals. Julie, you and I make a run down south to Bethany's in St. George!
