Come what may, and love it!

Greg just came home and told me that Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles passed away yesterday. I am sad that he is no longer here as I love his talks and council. His last Conference talk was one that really connected with me and my desires for my family. 'Come what may, and love it.' Advice he received from his mother, and his life lessons added to it - learn to laugh, seek for the eternal, the principle of compensation, and trust in the Father and the Son. His closing paragraph of the talk summed it all up beautifully - (although you should all read the whole thing again in your Ensigns or at www.lds.org ) 'As we look for humor, seek for the eternal perspective, understand the principle of compensation, and draw near to our Heavenly Father, we can endure hardship and trial. We can say, as did my mother, "come what may, and love it." What a great man who will be missed.

What a lovely tribute to such a wonderful man. I think over the years his talks just got better and better. He will definitely be missed.

I read his talk again this morning. It was one of the ones that truly touched me during conference. I used his message of laughter and the law of compensation as my visiting teaching message last month. I will miss him, too.
