This is my favorite month! Tomorrow is my grandma's 80th birthday... she is one of my greatest heroes in life and I am so thankful for her life and example. Then of course INDEPENDENCE DAY on the 4th... I am so grateful to live in this beautiful country and thankful for all those who have served and continue to do so for our freedom. Then it is Greg's birthday on the 5th... my husband and friend. Then it is my Dad's birthday on the 6th! If you read my previous blogs... you know how much I love my dad... so we will leave it at that for now! Then on a sadder note there is my uncle Dick's birthday... we really miss him:( but know he is happy and busy where he is... until we meet again - xoxo! Then of course the Utah holiday ... Pioneer Day! It's amazing to think and read of all they went through for their own freedom and ultimately... ours!
I love all of the patriotic celebrations mixed in with the celebration of some of my very favorite people! I love red, white and blue! I even love the cheesy parades and the melted, sticky salt water taffy! I love the summer nights in July... the many ways to stay cool during the day - but not the sunburn that usually goes with it! I just love July! May God bless America and all those I love!
Just because I love it so much... I am going to include the verse of our National Anthem that I think should be sung instead of the first...
Oh, thus be it ever when free men shall stand, between their loved homes and the war's desolation. Blessed with victory and peace, may the heaven rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, and this be our motto: "IN GOD IS OUR TRUST!" And the Star Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave!
