My babies are growing up! My sweet little Bryn just turned 5... oh how time flies! She was so excited for this birthday, and had all kinds of parties planned, but because it's still so cold, most of her ideas were nixed... pool party, horseback riding etc. So she decide on a 'Theatre Party' because she wanted to go see Alvin and the chipmunks at the dollar theatre! We convinced her to just make it a family birthday celebration this year and she could have a party next year with her friends from kindergarten.
She told me she wanted a bucket of popcorn cake... (I have no idea where she came up with that!)I have somehow convinced my kids that I can make any kind of cake and now just about kill myself trying. Her cake was 2 days in the making and turned out okay, but I learned a lot! Fondant is not hard to make, but hard to work with and very hard to roll out!! Cakes smash down easily! They don't freeze quickly! Making popcorn out of marshmallows is extremely time consuming! And my carving skills need some work!! However, she loved the cake and that made it worth it! We sang happy birthday to her and let her open her presents. She got a sweater and a husky webkinz dog! She is excited to start playing the games and carries him everywhere. She decide it was a he and named him grayson, because he is grey and a boy! The sight is definitely a mom and me project as you need to be able to read! We went to lunch... hamburgers... and then waited for the boys to come home, have dinner, blow out candles, and cut and eat the cake, then hit the movie! It was a fun day for her!
Today, we registered her for kindergarten. She still needs her physical and 2 more immunizations, but she didn't cry getting the 2 she got today and is soooo very excited about going to kindergarten! Austin and Brie got the rest of their immunizations today and were troopers as well!
I also got a call from a lady in my ward asking me to be the PTO Pres. of the middle school next year! I thought it was an odd request as I am not even on the board, but I am taking it under consideration?!
