Austin turned 12 this week! To celebrate we had some family over for a tube run party! Every time it gets bigger and faster! Everyone had a good time! We ended with Soup, rolls, hot chocolate and birthday cake! I tried to make a replica of the tube run! I don't have any really good pictures of it, but here are a few! Also the picture out the front door of the dog kennel... remember it is 6 feet tall! That just shows you how much snow there really is here!!
On a more serious note, today Austin was ordained a Deacon and received the Aaronic Priesthood. It was a really special day for him and us. He bore a beautiful testimony and is so excited to be entering this stage of life! I am excited for him too, just can't believe my baby is 12!! Where does the time really go? He was blessed to have Grandpa and Grandma Oaks and Grandpa and Grandma Evans there as well as Great Grandma Heath and Great Grandpa and Grandma Evans. What an amazing legacy!
Another neat thing we learned was that Austin's Primary teacher Bro. Hurst was part of his Priesthood lineage - many years ago in Austin, TX, Bro. Hurst ordained Austin's Grandpa Farley as a High Priest, Now hear we are in the same ward in Utah! What a neat thing! It is such a small world!
I gave Austin a book that I made for Him titled - My wish for you. In it are the words to the Rascal Flatts song - My wish, as well as a letter to Austin from Greg and I. It turned out really good and I hope someday he will understand the message as well! We also gave him an MP3 player with a lot of songs such as My wish, Stand and other uplifting song. He has really struggled with his self esteem and having a positive attitude, so I am hoping somehow, the messages of how incredible he is will sink in!!

How special to have family there when he was ordained. What a wonderful gift you gave him.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll be back.
What a wonderful day! I am glad the book turned out great! Love the cake and I need to fly up to go down the tube shoot!
Congratulations, Austin! Tell all the Evans grandparents hello for me. Nice "face plant" story by the way :).
