Preparation and Faith

Greg and I had the opportunity to see 'The Saratov Approach" last night. A movie about the true story of two LDS missionaries kidnapped for Ransom in Saratov Russia in 1998. It was such a good movie and so inspiring and thought provoking. I wondered how I would have handled the situation as a missionary and also as a parent. I was so impressed with how those young men handled such a scary and stressful situation. I was also impressed with their parents and the faith that all of them had.
As we left I wondered if I had prepared my boys to serve well enough that they too would display that kind of faith. I know there is so much to do and I am running out of time! It freaks me out to think that my oldest could be gone this summer - serving the Lord on his own mission. I hope he is as there is no where else I would rather him be, but oh the preparations that need to insue!
I loved how Elder Tuttle (who is related to me down the line) told of his lack of desire to serve and of the class he took and the moment he realized what the Savior had done for him and how minimal it was for him to serve 2 years.
I have seen and heard so many things this past week that have prompted me to want to look for the good in people and look deeper into them as children of our Heavenly Father and offer love no matter what.
I guess that is a lesson I need right now! Hmmmm

I would love to see the movie go to areas other than Utah, Idaho and Nevada. May have to wait for it come out on video.

There is always so much to learn, isn't there ; )
