One Word...

I have a friend that I don't know really well, but she is very inspiring through her actions and words... anyway, she posted on her blog about her word for 2010 which was push. She talked about how focusing on this word helped her try harder or even to try things she didn't think she could do and through out the year was amazed to see what she had been able to accomplish through pushing herself. She posted her word for 2011 as Holy deciding that if she was able to accomplish as much as she did with the Lord's help in pushing herself, how amazing putting her focus on Him would help her year to be as well as her relationship with Him.
I have always focused on setting lots of goals and then been disappointed in myself when I cannot keep up with them all or any at all - I get overwhelmed with everything I have to do, should do and would like to do and feel like I end up accomplishing very little! I really like the idea of having a word to focus on and using that to help me accomplish things... both of her words are excellent and who knows... I may borrow one of them, but I am thinking about what word I think would be a good one to focus on for 2011 some that have come to mind are joy, breathe, peace, enjoy...
Greg and I have been asked to speak in church next week on the Atonement and Forgiveness. I have also been asked to do a musical #, normally I am not afraid to speak or teach a lesson, but this one is making me nervous. I immediately asked my sisters to sing with me as I do not enjoy singing alone, but only a couple can do it and I am having a hard time coming up with a song, although, I found a beautiful solo version of 'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing' just trying to decide if I am brave enough to do it!
Anyway... looking back on this year there have been many lessons learned and many changes for me personally and for my family. I have so much work to do on myself - one goal is to think before I speak!! I am excited for this new year and the challenges and blessings it will inevitably bring! Wishing you and yours a very Happy, Successful and Peaceful New Year!!

I need to come up with a word for 2011--maybe because I'm going to be 60 I should pick SURVIVE ; )

I really like "push"--that's a good one.

I love "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing"--I bet you'll do great. I hope you do it.

Happy New Year.

Hugs.
