Perspective...

Isn't it funny how your perspective changes... if you would have suggested that we move into a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home a year ago, I would have said you were nuts! Today, I am thankful and feel it is a blessing to be so close to the restaurant (right next door) and it is an opportunity to simplify our crazy lives! A little more than a year ago, we thought it would be impossible to run the restaurant by ourselves and so partnered with Greg's friend... now we know that we can and need too, and the partner thing hasn't worked as well as we had hoped. That has also been an interesting experience in perspective... there's and ours... unfortunately they don't meet up!
I have learned a lot this year - especially to never say never!! You just don't know what path you can end up on and it's best not to have to try to rebuild burnt bridges! I have also learned that I am stronger than I thought I was and that I can do anything I absolutely need to do. I have learned that I absolutely need the Lord's help to do that!! I have learned how much I love and respect Greg. He really is amazing with a huge heart and capacity for forgiveness. Sometimes it makes me crazy that he just lets things go or lets others get away with things that I wouldn't. But overall, I think he is a better person in that area than I will ever be! I have learned that this beautiful valley that I always thought it would be great to live in is indeed great to live in! The people are amazing! I have learned that our parents are always our parents and their opinions and thoughts and support mean everything - still. I have learned a lot about myself and it hasn't been all good! I have a lot of areas to work on - especially in the mothering area which is the most important! I have great kids, they are amazing and have been great through out this past year. I have learned that there is always more to learn!! I am thankful for those along my journey that are helping me survive and learn along the way! I am surrounded by great examples - thank you!

You are AMAZING. I could sense your strength when I first starting reading your blog.

This life is a time to learn and grow--and there are lots of bumps along the way. You are doing great. It's wonderful to know we are never alone.

Sher, that was an awesome post! I am so happy that you are right next door. I can only imagine how perfect that is for everyone.

I always thought I could live in a hotel room with all my kids if I had too. That just means you can reach out and hug them easier :) Life definitely changes when you put things into perspective. Things that you think mattered really don't. You are truly a person that can do anything and still have a smile. I'm not sure I know one person that isn't a Sheri fan. We miss you at LHD! We talked about how much we love you today.

I agree! You are a special girl, with immense gifts, and ability! You and Greg make a wonderful team, and together there is little you can't and won't accomplish. Now that the restaurant is your own, I expect great things to happen to and for you! We often have to persevere through a few "partnerships" to realize that the best partners are, in order of importance: 1) God our Heavenly Father; 2) Our beloved Spouse!
Don't bother asking me how I know.
