Happy Birthday Brett!

January 7th is my favorite cousins birthday! Happy Birthday Brett!

I was so lucky to grow up close with my family. Brett is one year younger than me and is the opposite sex, but we were the best of friends growing up and though years and miles have separated us, the bond is and forever will be there. We had the best childhood! We were crazy! The best part was that I could be as crazy as I dared to be and not even come close to Brett - so he got in the most trouble!! We had so much fun horseback riding together in the Mountains above Centerville and Bountiful, talking, racing, me hanging on for dear life! We stayed overnight at Grandma and Grandpa's together - playing pool, staying up long into the night talking and attempting to make 'surprise' breakfast for our grandparents in the morning! We went on trips together, getting stuck in an elevator half way between floors, singing My Fair Lady songs, and having a grand time together! We watched ''The Man from Snowy River' together many times!! It's still my favorite show!

Brett is one of the main reasons I went on a mission. He would write to me and I would see what a great difference he was making and it made me realize that I needed to serve.

We have both been through much since those childhood days - I have watched (from too much distance) as he has struggled with heartbreaking things in life including losing his Dad last year. Through it all, I have never lost faith in his ability to come out on top. He is an amazing person with so much to give and seems larger than life! I love him and am so thankful that we belong to the same Family on our way To Heaven Together! Happy Birthday Cuz!
